William Stopha

Will Stopha is a multi media performance poet and beat-smith.  He lives, writes and performs in London and sometimes other places in the world.  Stopha’s poetry and poetic short films have been described as “commentary of the every day” and he has addressed topics as varied as the increasing dominance of technology, society’s irrational fear of the hooded jumper and the whale that got lost in the river Thames.

Stopha has produced four fringe theatre shows in Edinburgh and London and performed for Apples & Snakes and Kerrang! Radio.
When Will Stopha is not writing, producing or behind the camera, he is a full time secondary school teacher in North London who goes by the name Mr. Mitchell.

“Stopha’s observations are astute, satirical and funny.  He has some great ideas, which he presents in original and engaging ways.” (Three Weeks – Edinburgh 2008)

“The greatest poet alive” (Nick Margerison, Kerrang! Radio)

Word Man

'Word Man' by Will Stopha, commissioned by SPEAK for the launch of this website:  'Word Man' marvels at the rich wonder of words and their power to dream, challenge, promise and change.
