Dance Upon Injustice

dancingmanDance Upon Injustice represents the emerging movement of grassroots creativity across the Speak Network. You’ll hear lots of interesting new artists performing at these local events throughout the UK including people playing DnB, psy trance, Dub, chill out and some acoustic sets and spoken word artists. Many of these artists will feature on our artists and activists site.

It’s connected to the wider Speak underground movement but also embraces participants from a range of perspectives.

Dance Upon Injustice was started by students in Manchester, including Caleb Storkey and friends, in about 2000. They were catalytic in sharing the idea with other Speak groups, who have been doing Dance Upon Injustice events around the UK ever since.

We support local groups to autonomously organise their own Dance Upon Injustice events. If you are interested in organising a Dance Upon Injustice we have a manual with ideas and tips you can download.

Some people like to organise a Dance Upon Injustice with a conscious spiritual slant a bit like some of the London nights we have organized. If you want info on this more nuanced approach as an organiser please e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

You can also consider booking artists who are willing to travel who have information and myspace links below to make a contribution to your event.

** If you have performed on a local dance upon injustice event and you would like to be featured on line in our artists list or on our artists database, (which means more gigs) please send us an e-mail with your details to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
